 2 July to 14 December 2012

DTS is a 5.5 months course that aims to help you deepen your relationship with God, find out more of who He is, more of who you are in Him, and then impact His Kingdom with your specific talents and gifts! This particular DTS will have an evangelism focus throughout the school, we want to take what we learn and transform the area we live in with these truths. This DTS will have two main focuses with outreach, the world through the Olympics and serving the local church in another country. In between, during the Lecture phase we will have teachings over various subjects from different international teachers with diverse backgrounds.

Discipleship Training School

(DTS) is designed to help you understand God more deeply, live more like Jesus and identify your unique gifts and purpose to use in missions.  DTS is an intensive, residential training course which begins with a twelve week classroom phase, followed by an eight week outreach.  DTS emphasizes cross-cultural exposure and global awareness, preparing students to answer the call to "Go into all the world and make disciples of all nations" Matthew 28:19.

The Lecture Phase

It is presented by gifted teachers of various backgrounds and nationalities, many having had years of experience internationally both in the training of others for missions and in practical service on the mission field.

Students spend 15 hours per week attending lectures. A typical day compromises of two lecture periods in the morning, intercession time, a small group meeting and an afternoon work duty. All the topics of a DTS are taught in order to prepare the Christian messenger for the task of world evangelism.

Topics include:
* How to Hear the Voice of God
* The Character and Ways of God
* Personal Character Development
* God’s Principles for Relationships
* The Power of Forgiveness
* Evangelism and Mission
* Prayer and Intercession
* Gifts of the Holy Spirit
* Inner Healing
* Blessings & Curses
* Christian Worldview

The Outreach Phase

The field assignment follows immediately after the lecture phase, lasting for a minimum period of 8 weeks and will take place in a cross-cultural situation.

Past outreaches have been to destinations such as Spain, Norway, Scotland, Argentina, Brazil, South Africa and Italy. We have come alongside the workers in these places, hearing how we can best serve their own particular needs and in doing so, experiencing the power and love of God at work in and through us.

The Outreach is a time to put into practice some of the truths that we have learned in the lecture phase, where we become doers of the word, not just hearers only.
